A New Station Hall on the North Side

The new station hall on Eindhoven’s north side is a key part of the larger Knoop XL project, which is transforming the station into a mobility hub. Plans include a new, larger reception hall, a new bus station, and the expansion of bicycle parking facilities to accommodate the expected growth in travelers (up to 200,000 per day by 2040).

Neckerspoel bus station goes underground

The exploration of the Multimodal Node is being conducted under the direction of the City ofEindhoven and the Province of Noord-Brabant and focuses on the area to the north of Eindhoven Central Station. This exploration includes a new underground Neckerspoel bus station, 5 bus tunnels, a new underground bicycle parking facility and the new station hall on the north side. These plans are intertwined with area development Fellenoord in Eindhoven KnoopXL.

A Brand New Underground Bicycle Storage Facility

The new underground bicycle parking facility will have an entrance on the south side of Station Road. The new bicycle parking will be connected underground to the existing bicycle parking under the station. With this expansion, travelers will be able to park bicycles safely and conveniently on the south side of the station. We are developing the bicycle shed together with NS, Eindhoven municipality and engineering firm Movares. The contractor who will actually build the parking facility must be contracted.

From 6 to 8 Platform Tracks

Eindhoven is growing: The number of inhabitants and jobs in and around Eindhoven is increasing, as is (inter)national rail transportation. Due to this development, more rail passengers are expected in the future. To make this possible, expansions at and around Eindhoven Central Station are necessary. In Building Block 3 we therefore explore the possibility of two extra platform tracks; how and where these adjustments can be made.
